Summary:
Sustainable waste management is a major challenge in Banyumas Regency, especially after limited land for final disposal sites (TPA) encouraged the government and community to innovate in community-based waste management. This research aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and behavior of parents and elementary school students in waste management, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of Kamishibai learning media as a means of environmental education. The method used was mixed, with data collection via questionnaires on 599 parents and 549 students, as well as implementing Kamishibai workshops for teachers. The research results show that parents' knowledge and attitudes towards waste management are relatively high, but there is still a gap between attitudes and actual behavior. A strong correlation was found between attitudes and behavior, both for parents and students, while the influence of parents' attitudes towards students was relatively weak. The implementation of Kamishibai has proven to be effective in increasing students' understanding and involvement in waste sorting, as well as making it easier for teachers to convey environmental material. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration between families and schools and the use of innovative media to strengthen pro-environmental behavior in the younger generation.
